In what order is the ball bearing and spring, inside a chemical injector on a power washer?
I have taken the chemical injector nipple off many times throughout the years on my 2 power washers (when the ball bearing is “frozen”, to release it), I am a Painting Contractor and usually repair my own equipment. I have been dealing with a different issue for a few weeks on and off, I have fixed the one issue but now I’m having “back-flow” from my chemical injector and I’m wondering if I have the ball and spring in the wrong order…or do I just need a new “cij”? Don’t want to purchase a whole new “cij” fitting, what is considered a throw away part but it’s $100. I don’t have an extra $100 these days to throw away-lol. I have the ball bearing sitting atop the spring now.

No pitting or anything…I think the spring is what is damaged but it’s all considered a “throw away part”…but it’s the whole injector fitting, $100! UGH!

The spring goes in first, then the ball, then the nipple. The ball shuts off back-flow and the spring presses it against the nipple. The chem injector uses suction and pulls the ball back to allow the chems to pull into the pump.
If the ball or nipple are pitted, it will not be able to shut off the back-flow.

Yep, they can get expensive. You didn’t mention the brand or model of the PW, but try outdoordistributors.com and see if you can get it any cheaper. They usually have good prices on power equipment parts.
