Firefighters from the Riverside Fire Authority coax Robert Rivas, 6, out of a tree after the youth climbed 40 feet and became too scared to scale back down in the backyard of his Centralia home Monday evening. After much coaxing, Rivas climbed most the way down but needed assistance and a ladder to reach safety. “I hate climbing trees now,” Rivas said after running into his grandpa’s arms.
